This is the first annual report of the Parliament Watch, one of the key departments established by the LHRC. The organization established the unit to monitor the three pillars of the state and other related issues such as election and corporate.
On December 10, 2009 the LHRC launched its report on Local Government Election in Tanzania. The report comes following a move by the Centre to send 95 monitors to municipal councils to monitor polling issues on October 2009. The Justice Watch Panel came about following difficulties encountered by the LHRC whenever directing people to court and other legal tribunals. Legal and Human Rights Centre compiled and released the report for public consumption.
